Graveyard Explorers

This is a special cemetery-based educational activity for primary-school aged children. These are run on occasional weekends, and can be organised anytime for schools and organisational groups such as cub scouts.

Our guides Tracey Olivieri and Chris Dawson will lead this tour in which children will discover what cemeteries are all about, what happened here, and that they are places of love and nothing to be afraid of.

They will also develop an appreciation of these special spaces and why we need to look after them.

There will be a Symbol Hunt or a Scavenger Hunt among the headstones, in which children will learn about some of the beautiful imagery carved onto the stones.

There will also be free bookmarks, colouring sheets, symbol-hunt sheets, participation certificates, and sales of children’s history books

Duration is one hour, and entry cost for public weekend events is a gold coin donation. No fancy dress allowed, sorry.
