Graveyard Explorers

This is a special educational activity for primary-school aged children held in the historical and beautiful cemetery.

Our guide Tracey Olivieri - who is a mother and a regional cub scout leader - will lead the children on an all-new ‘Dead Interesting’ tour, with stories of cemetery superstition and burial practices.

There will be a Symbol Hunt or a Scavenger Hunt among the headstones, in which children will learn about some of the beautiful imagery carved onto the stones.

Children will discover that cemeteries are lovely places and nothing to be afraid of. They will also learn of the need to look after them, and can participate in our new Adopt-a-Grave programme. There will also be free bookmarks, colouring sheets, participation certificates, and sales of children’s history books

Duration is one hour, and entry cost is a gold coin donation. No fancy dress allowed, sorry.
